The ability to cut accurate cavity preparations and to place excellent composite restorations is an essential skill for endodontics – the primary cause of endodontic treatment failure is a poor restoration. Does the course enable you to perform root canals afterwards?
The course is highly practical, wet lab based, and purposefully aimed only at those with additional training (eg PgCertDent plus Restorative Dentistry course as described above) and delegates will be given the requisite information to learn the necessary techniques. However, all short courses are limited relative to extensive training. Other variables are operator skill/experience and the presence, or lack, of supervision. For example, Specialist Diploma trainees would all attend such a course (often several times) in addition to observing, then being mentored by, experienced Specialists over several years.

Like any advanced course, this course shows you how to perform the procedure and imparts essential knowledge. However, it is critical to remember that learning a new technique is the start, not the end of training. Developing a high skill level takes time and a poor RCT can cause considerable pain.

The formula to be able to perform high quality endodontics is:
course/s (theory & wetlab) + practise techniques on extracted teeth/ cadavers + observing experts + clinical mentoring by experts => experience & skill

Endodontics – Pulp, Pain & Saving Teeth FAQ Is the course practical? The course is highly practical with multiple wet-labs in addition to essential theory.
