Grant Petrie MA VetMB CertSAC CertSAM MRCVS
Grant Petrie graduated from the Cambridge University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. He moved to Bristol University as the Junior Fellow in Canine Internal Medicine from 1987-1988. After time in private referral practices in London and the Midlands, he joined the Royal Veterinary College, London where he undertook a Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine. In 1997 and 1998 he set up private referral small animal internal medicine clinics in London and Surrey respectively. In 2003 Grant returned to the RVC as a Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine. He currently offers a second opinion and referral service at the Portman Veterinary Clinic and Bayswater Referral Clinic in London.
Grant has been an RCVS Examiner for the Certificate in Small Animal Medicine and a member of both the RCVS Small Animal Board and the RCVS Professional Development sub-committee. He is a BSAVA volunteer having served on and chaired the Education Committee. He is now an Officer of the Association.
He is interested in all areas of small animal medicine but one of his areas of special interest is endocrinology. He has been involved in collaborative studies in to the use of insulin in cats and the use of trilostane in dogs with hyperadrenocorticism. He has lectured extensively in the UK and Europe on many aspects of small animal internal medicine
