Cancer patients probably make up a significant proportion of your caseload in small animal practice. These dogs and cats may have benign tumours which can be completely removed by adequate surgical resection. However some of your cases will be very challenging and will require more radical medical or surgical management.
This course will help you to deal more effectively with all of your cancer patients, and just as importantly, with their owners. Your clients have ever-increasing expectations as to what can be achieved with their pet’s treatment and the Keysteps™ Oncology course will bring you up to date with current thinking and the treatment options available in each case.
From accurate identification and staging of the tumour, through discussing management options with the owner and deciding on the best course of action for each patient, this modular course will equip you with the skills and confidence that you need.
At the end of this modular course you will have an excellent grounding in oncology, and you will be well equipped to work up your cancer patients effectively, communicate knowledgably and compassionately with their owners and decide on the best and most practical management protocols for each animal. You can attend the whole course, or pick individual modules of particular interest.
