Course outline
This module will cover the biology, nutrition and husbandry of lizards and snakes and its practical application in the consulting room. This knowledge will help you to evaluate husbandry techniques and suggest and justify recommendations to your clients. We will discuss hospitalisation of these animals, supportive care and clinical examination. A discussion of diagnostics and their limitations will precede an overview of common diseases, their diagnosis and treatment. Anaesthetic techniques and surgical therapy will also be considered. Finally case discussions will allow you to review the approach that you will actually take when these patients arrive in your consulting room.
