Course outline
Herbal medicine is increasingly popular in human medicine and it is likely that owners will enquire about herbal options for their animals if you have not already experienced this. Which herbs are safe and effective to use in small animal patients, and how do you select the appropriate remedy for each presentation? Can you combine herbal treatments with conventional veterinary medicine?
We will investigate the answers during this attendance session.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• History of herbal medicine in the east and west
• Biochemistry and prescribing principles
• Organoleptic studies (taste and smell herbs!)
• Case studies
• 5 Prescriptions to try on your patients in practice
• Sources, courses and contacts
Course fee
£280.00 + VAT (£329.00)
Includes tuition, course notes, refreshments and lunch.
