Course outline
Neurological diagnosis can be challenging especially since many patients with neurological disease present as emergencies. Even without the specialist facilities and expertise for definitively diagnosing and treating neurological disorders, a great deal of information can be determined with some basic knowledge and a logical approach. This course will emphasise decision making based on initial evaluation of common neurological presentations illustrated by case examples.

Specific areas to be covered include:
• Vestibular disorders - is it the brain or the ear?
• Practical approach to the spinal patient
• Common neuromuscular diseases
• Diagnostic approach to epileptic seizures
• Treatment of epileptic seizures
• Video tour of feline neurology
