Course outline
Dealing with birds and reptiles can be very challenging for the small animal practitioner. A lack of veterinary training and familiarity with non-mammalian species can make even the simplest task, such as taking an adequate history or performing a thorough clinical examination, a daunting prospect.
This course aims to equip you with the knowledge required to enable you to tackle the avian and reptilian patient with confidence, and to provide a high standard of veterinary care for these patients.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Husbandry and supportive care
• Diagnostic techniques
• Clinical techniques
• Common diseases seen in general practice
• Anaesthesia
• Surgery
