Course Outline
Obtaining and interpreting diagnostic thoracic radiographs can be challenging in the practice situation. This course will help you to develop your skills and confidence both in taking and interpreting small animal thoracic radiographs. We will review the anatomy and normal variations of the cat and dog thorax, before considering the different radiographic changes which may be encountered in disease. Film reading sessions in small groups will then allow us to put these theoretical ideas into practice.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Obtaining diagnostic thoracic radiographs in practice
• Normal anatomy and common variations
• Lung patterns
• Cardiovascular disease
• Mediastinal, pleural and thoracic wall disease
