Course outline
Are you unsure where to start with small animal fracture surgery? Perhaps you would like to develop your confidence in decision making and your surgical skills in the kinds of procedures that you are likely to face on a regular basis in practice.
This highly practical one day course is specifically designed for you. Seminars and interactive sessions are combined with hands-on surgery sessions during which you are guided by experienced but approachable tutors. Take your newly developed confidence and skills back to your practice and apply them in your fracture patients.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Cerclage wiring: applications, indications and techniques
• Pin and tension band wire of tibial tubercle
• Cross pin fixation of distal femoral fracture
• Intra-medullary pinning of femur
• Fixator tie-in for femoral fractures
• Seminars and 'hands-on' practical sessions to develop your skills
