Course outline
Do you like exotic animals, or prefer small animal surgery? Why not both?! This course is designed for you if you are an exotic animal orientated clinician who would like to expand your surgical skill repertoire. It will also provide invaluable new knowledge and skills for you if you have a surgical inclination and you would like to become involved in exotic animal surgery. Are you tired of the same old basic exotic animal CPD, by the same old speakers? Well, this course is new and different! Taught by two experienced veterinary surgeons in private practice and designed for you as a vet in practice, the course will focus on realistic methods and procedures, some down and dirty practical tips, but also some quite flash procedures.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Surgical techniques and principles in different exotic species
• Routine surgical soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures in a wide variety of exotic species
• More advanced procedures including minimally invasive surgery
• Wound management and reconstructive surgery in birds, reptiles and exotic mammals
• We will highlight new cutting edge techniques, materials and equipment
