Exotic patients can be challenging to examine and manage- even more demanding is the exotic patient with an eye condition! When you attend this course you will develop a logical and structured approach to examination, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions in a range of species commonly encountered in practice.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Different forms for different purposes - anatomy and function of exotic eyes
• Normal appearances of the eyes of different species
• Reptile eyes - what to look for in disease states
• The avian eye in health and disease
• Conditions of the rabbit eye and how to treat them
• Essential ophthalmology for amphibians
• Introduction to ophthalmic conditions of zoo animals
• Case studies relate theory to real life
