Course outline
Rodents are common visitors to the consulting room, and it can be challenging to match owner expectations with realistic management of these animals. This module will provide you with the essential background information that you need about the biology, husbandry and nutrition of rodents, together with how to look after them as inpatients in your practice. Practical examination protocols and diagnostic procedures will enhance your confidence with common presentations. Both medical and surgical aspects will be discussed, with the emphasis on what is practical and realistic for your practice situation.
