Course outline
Does your heart sink when an eye patient walks through the door? Need a refresher? Starting with tips on correct ophthalmoscope use and performance of a basic eye exam, the course will progress to common ophthalmic presentations in small animal practice. Seminars and case presentations will be used to highlight key points. At the end of the day, you should have enhanced confidence and skills to both evaluate and treat patients presenting with ophthalmic disease.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Eye examination
• Assessment of the red and painful eye (conjunctivitis and keratitis, uveitis, glaucoma)
• Eyelid surgery
• Third eyelid surgery
• Cataract assessment
