Course outline
Ultrasonography is an extremely important diagnostic imaging modality in equine practice. During this course we will teach you the principles of tendon and ligament ultrasonography; provide information on normal and abnormal ultrasonographic findings and make sure that you return to your practice with new practical skills. Extensive practical sessions will include demonstrations and ample opportunity for you to perform scans under guidance. You will have the opportunity to read ultrasound scans and participate in case based discussions to help apply theory to practice.
Specific areas to be covered include:
• Superficial digital flexor tendon ultrasonography
• Deep digital flexor tendon ultrasonography
• Suspensory ligament ultrasonography
• Accessory ligament of the deep digital flexor tendon ligament ultrasonography
• Collateral ligament of the distal interphalangeal joint ultrasonography
• Extensive hands-on practical sessions to develop your skills
