Course outline
Dealing with breeders in first opinion practice can be challenging, and they are often more difficult to deal with than your pet-owning clients. This course will help you to communicate with professional and amateur breeders with confidence and to deal effectively with the reproductive presentations that you are likely to encounter on a regular basis in practice. When you attend this course you will be presented with all the up to date knowledge on progesterone testing and its pitfalls, problems at conception and the new reproductive drugs. We will discuss biotechnology relevant to both males and females. Last but not least, we will look at some specific techniques that you can use to select and carry out successful interventions during parturition.

Specific areas to be covered include:
• What do breeders want from their vet?
• Progesterone testing for mating and parturition
• Current trends in spaying and castration in the UK
• What is happening in canine biotechnology?
• How to carry out successful interventions at birth
